Robin in St. Stephen’s Green

Robin in St. Stephen’s Green, Dublin. Watercolor and pen on paper. 5″x7″.

In 2016, I travelled to Ireland and was lucky enough to have ten days there. I took so many photos of my travels and recently started to paint them as I miss both traveling and Ireland. In Dublin, there’s a green space just off of the famous Grafton Street known as Stephen’s Green or St. Stephen’s Green. I sat there on a bench one day, tired and people watching and a cute little red breasted robin (I’m still waiting for bird watchers to correct me on that) sat on a gate behind me. It was so close to me, I thought it might land on me. But it didn’t. We just looked at each other for what seemed a long while and she welcomed me to her beautiful city. Here’s my portrait of her.
